2009 NATIONAL ANNUAL INSURANCE INDUSTRY AWARDS
Themed: “THINK AFRESH…..doing things differently”
TTAIFA’s 29th National Annual Awards chaired by Mrs. Alicia Birch took place at the Hyatt Regency on Friday April 3rd and took the form of a breakfast meeting with Mr. George Frederick of St. Vincent & The Grenadines being the guest speaker. Mr. Frederick has been a top notch producer in the insurance industry for the past 40 years and shared from his spring of ideas with those in the audience.
The organization in an effort to do things differently and to adjust to the fast paced changes taking place in the national and global financial markets choose to move away from the night function thereby giving our members an opportunity to enjoy an early morning breakfast with all the pomp and flair of the awards distribution, topped by a speaker who brought inspiration, a combination that’s hard to beat.
The top winners were:
- Shaddi Joseph of Guardian Life winning Student of the Year (SOTY)
- Chapter of the Year – The TTAIFA South Chapter headed by Patricia Ramoutar of CLICO
- Activity Award was won by Shushilla Mc Farlane of CLICO
- Best All Round Agent, Shama Deonarine of CLICO
- Rookie of the Year – Marcia Assam of CLICO
- Dale Mc Leod copped the Top Producer Male Award
- Shama Deonarine won the Top Producer Female Award
- The Unit of the Year was won by the Dexter George Unit of Guardian Life
- The prestigious Best All Round Agency award went to the Larry Gocool Branch of Guardian Life
The 420 attendees were also treated to the soothing sweet sounds of the violin by Anselm Walters as he captivated the audience with his renditions.
